Recognizing mosaics as more than a craft is the beginning of understanding the nature of the art form. The true idea of it is simple: any single object can become a base form, and an infinite source of materials can then be used as its tiles. Using just that basic knowledge has helped to bring the many styles of mosaics together for centuries...
Nancy Wolff's own artworks reflect those ideas as she continues to create with glass, tiles, beads and simple found objects.
Her works have been commissioned for both private and commercial projects. She has served as a mosaics teacher at both The Art Center in Highland Park, Illinois, and the Geneva Lake Arts Foundation in Wisconsin. She continues to conduct mosaic workshops, classes and professional group events.
